Joint Water Filling-MRT Downlink Transmit Diversity for a Broadband Single-Carrier Distributed Antenna Network

چکیده
In this paper, joint water filling and maximal ratio transmission (joint WF-MRT) downlink transmit diversity for a single-carrier distributed antenna network (SC DAN) is proposed. The joint WF-MRT transmit weight allocates the transmit power in both transmit antenna dimension and frequency dimension, i.e., the power allocation is done both across frequencies based on WF theorem and across transmit antennas based on MRT strategy. The cumulative distribution function (CDF) of the channel capacity achievable by joint WF-MRT transmit diversity is evaluated by Monte-Carlo numerical computation method. The channel capacities achievable with joint WF-MRT, MRT, and WF transmit weight (WF transmit weight is done across transmit antennas and frequencies based on WF theorem) are compared. It is shown that the joint WF-MRT transmit weight provides the highest channel capacity among three transmit weights. key words: distributed antenna network, transmit diversity, channel capacity, frequency-selective channel

Frequency-domain space-time block coded single-carrier distributed antenna network
In this paper, space-time block coding (STBC) is applied to single-carrier distributed antenna network (SC-DAN). By using the frequency-domain STBC coded joint transmit/receive diversity (FDSTBC-JTRD) for the downlink while using the well-known frequencydomain space-time transmit diversity (FD-STTD) for the uplink, the diversity order is given by the product of the number of distributed antenna...
متن کاملA Study on Frequency Efficiencies of Distributed Antenna Network in Cellular System
Abstract In mobile communication systems, the received signal level varies due to fading, shadowing and path loss and therefore, the transmission performance degrades. Instead of using all of transmit antennas at one position, the outage probability in a service area can be improved by distributed antenna network (DAN) in which transmit antennas are distributed over the service area to transmit...

Distributed antenna network (DAN) is a promising wireless network which can mitigate the impacts of distancedependent/shadowing losses and fading. Frequency-domain space-time block coded-joint transmit/receive diversity (FDSTBC-JTRD) is an antenna diversity technique which allows an arbitrary number of transmit antennas while keeping the coding rate constant and is suitable for the downlink tra...
متن کاملSingle-Carrier Frequency Domain Equalization for Broadband Cooperative Communications
Cooperative diversity is an effective technique to combat the fading phenomena in wireless communications without additional complexity of multiple antennas. Multiple terminals in the network form a virtual antenna array in a distributed fashion. Even though each of them is equipped with only one antenna, spatial diversity gain can be achieved through cooperation. In this chapter, we discuss re...

In this paper, joint transmit/receive frequency-domain equalization (FDE) is proposed for analog network coded (ANC) singlecarrier (SC) bi-directional multi-antenna relay. In the proposed scheme, diversity transmission using transmit FDE is performed at relay station (RS) equipped with multiple antennas while receive FDE is carried out at base station (BS) and mobile terminal (MT) both equipped...
